~Drying Fruit~

                                                    The Fresh Mangos and Pears!

I dried fruit for the first time last night and it was a great sucess. I dried Pears and Mangos! I plugged in the dehydrator and set it to 135 and left the fruit for about 9 hours. It tastes so good! My little one was skeptical to try it, but I told her it was Natures candy and she loves it. I cant wait to dry more fruit. I also am going to dry some Tomato's and some peppers. Im excitied about all the things I will be drying.

  1. Hi Jenn,
Do your dehydrator instructions specify how long the dried fruit/veg can be kept? I'd kind of forgotten about drying as a means of preservation, particularly of fruit - there's only so much jam one can use...

  2. Hi Nick! It says for fruit up to 6 months in a jar or air tight container! Veggies are 3 to 6 months! I just put mine in some Tupperware. You can also freeze your extra fruit and make smoothies!
