I am enjoying walking into my garden and having Tomato's everyday!
My biggest suprise came at the end of last week! I picked my first Mr. Stripey! Not much of a suprise you say! Well, my first Mr.Stripey weighed in over 2 pounds!!! I have never grown a Tomato that big. My methods of fertilizing with cow poo, rabbit poo and compost must be working. I love Organic gardening!
Now, to introduce you to Mr.Stripey!
It topped out my scale! So I am not sure how much over 2 pounds it weighed. I almost dont want to eat it. But, I will! I am thinking fresh Pico De Gallo.
Here are a few baskets I harvested over the weekend. I am starting to get alot of cherry type tomatos.
I love the colors of tomatos. I am enjoying taking pictures of them in my garden basket. The simple things in life are some of the best things in life.
Over the weekend I picked several green Tomatos and we enjoyed them fried in italian bread crumbs and sprinkled with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. I missed a photo oppertunity. By the time I remebered to take a picture of the fried green tomatos, they were all gobbled up!
I hope you are having a great Tomato season.
What are some tomato dishes you have made this summer?
Happy Tomato Tuesday Friends!!!
Wow...that is a big tomato. I have had a few come close to 2 lbs, but no over 2 lbers. Yum yum pico de gallo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a size!!... We always cut a little bit at the top of young coconut and put a straw in to sip the most exotic tropical drink... Can we do that to the juicy big tomato?

Bangchik, I wish we could drink a tomato like a coconut! But I will have to stick with making drinks with tomato juice.
ReplyDeleteTrina, you grow some nice tomatos too! I love Pico!
