Getting your Nasties on at night! A nightime look at the "spitfire"

The Nasturtium Spitfire has been an awesome addition to my veggie garden. I have planted the "Spitfire" with my Tomato's and Peppers. I also have some mixed in with my Borage and some Swiss Chard. I decided for this post I would take pics at night. The blooms are still vibraint even in the dark.

This is the "Spitfire" growing next to my Chocolate Cherry Tomato. I made a trellis of sticks so they could grow around and along my back fence.

These "Spitfires" are near my Mr.Stripey Tomato plant and some peppers.

This "Spitfire is near the Borage and a few Peppers.

Here the "Spitfire" has made itself at home with some Swiss Chard and Peppers.

Here is a daytime photo of the Nasturtium Spitfire. It has a few buds on their way to blooming.

Happy Gardening!!!

How do your "Spitfires" look at night?

Nasturtiums...The progression of The Spitfire

I was trying to come up with a blog post about My Nasturtium Spitfires for the Grow Project. I couldnt think of what to write, so I decided to show you the progress from begining till now.

I started my seeds indoors in Febuary. Since I had never grown them before I wasnt sure how I should start them.

After they were good and started I planted them in an area of my yard that was ugly and needed some Pizzaz!

The Nasturtiums took off really well in this spot, this is 5 weeks after planting outside. I hope they cover the ugly fence that my neighbor has up! I also have Pineapple sage and Thyme planted here.

Here is the side view. Im hoping they climb this old broke down ladder.

My kiddo planted these Nasturtiums in with  the Tomitillos!

Heres how they look today! They are really taking over this spot.

I really think they will do the job of hiding the UGLY fence.

I can no longer see my Pinapple Sage or Thyme! Well if you look real hard in the middle of the ladder, you can see the Pinapple Sage trying to make an appearance! How are your Nasturtiums growing?

Spitfire's Climbing the Ladder...

My Spitfire Nasturtium's from Renee's Garden are doing very well! Im hoping with a little training they will be climbing my wooden ladder in no time! Since this old rickety ladder is in no way safe for climbing, it is now part of the garden.

I also have some Pinapple Sage, Hemigraphis "Blackberry Waffle" and some Oregano hanging out with the Nasturtiums

Slowely, my Spitfires are making the climb.

I also added some Spitfires to my veggie garden. I used old tent poles to make arches over parts of my garden.

They are starting to wrap themselves around the pole and grow up. I cant wait to see the tent poles completly covered and mixed with my veggies. It will be a great show!

Happy Gardening!

Lets GROW together, thats the topic on this Easter Sunday!

There is a few of us in the blogging world, who are growing Climbing Nasturtiums Spitfire! Compliments of Renee's Garden Seed. I started mine about a month ago . Here is how they looked!

Two weeks later and they are in the ground!

These are growing up a bambo tiki tourch, so I can hide the stick!

These are in a flower bed to block my neighbors ugly chain link fence!

I also added some to my Brocolli bed. I have a little fence that surrounds it. I thought it would add to this area. I also thought it would be neat to companion plant.

I still plan on adding more in differnt places! But CALI weather hasnt been treating us well, lots of rain! More planting to come. I am real exciteid to do this project and read the other blogs.

If you want to read more about this project and see what others are saying, go here: Grow Project!

Thanks again to Reene's Garden Seed and The Grow Project!
