Yay!!!! Its SPRING!

Spring has sprung!
Gardeners all over are Happy she has finally arrived. We are still having alot of rain in my neck of the woods.
Although, it certainly hasn't stopped me from getting my
green thumb deep into some soil.

I have been busy with my seed start station!
Getting Tomato's, Peppers,Basil and Eggplant a nice little start.

I have so many things growing  in the greenhouse too!

Zinger Hibiscus Tea! I'm excited to see this garden goodie grow. I cant wait to make my own tea.

Here is my Swiss Chard, Malabar Spinach, Butter-crunch Lettuce and Garlic Chives. These seedlings are about 3 weeks old.

Alpine Strawberries are finally germinating! Took about 19 days! I have never grown Strawberries from seed. It's exciting!

Sweet Chen Basil. I am also growing 6 other Basil varieties.

My Tomato plants are off to a fabulous start! I'm growing 11 varieties this year.

These Tomato's are called Russian Persimmon. I'm growing these to help a seed bank. I will be doing a post all about this project soon.

I started Artichokes from seed this year as well. These will go in my front yard edible landscape. I will be sharing more about the edible front yard in future posts! This is just a few things I have growing. I will post more this week.

What seeds have you started?
Are you growing new seeds this year? If so, what are you growing?

Happy Growing Friends!!!

  1. Spring ain't sprung yet Jenn Hammer (although, one would think otherwise when viewing the weed growth in the backyard). I don't know when this rain is going stop -- but it's gotta stop at some point! Right? Please?

  2. Jenn,
Enjoyed this post, the tomato plants look great. I have 6 different toms growing, with peppers, basil and thyme. Our cold frames are near busting out with chard, kale, spinach, rape and mustard greens. Peas and carrots too. More if I have more time.

  6. Everything looks great Jenn! And quite the variety. You are off to such a great start -- I am just a little envious. You must be so organized because I just finally got around to starting about a month ago. There are a few things I have started from seed for the first time this year including Thai basil, okra and eggplant. Previously I have set out purchased transplants of eggplant and Thai basil but this is my first time growing okra. I can't wait to see pictures of your edible landscape. I love the idea of front yard vegetable gardens and grew a few bell peppers up front myself last year.
